Tyler Jon Smyth, 35, of Ankeny passed away June 14, 2017.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date.
Tyler was born on June 12, 1982 in Des Moines, Iowa to Richard Craig Smyth and Patricia Lynn (Oberender) Pirtle. Tyler grew up living in Slater, Iowa with his family. He is graduated of Ballard High School.
Tyler worked as an insurance claim specialist for ADP. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his friends and family, and he truly loved helping people. Tyler had many hobbies throughout his life, such as riding dirt bikes and four wheelers, shooting at the range, fishing, and his passion for RC cars.
He is survived by his mother Patricia Pirtle; his brother Richard Smyth of Slater; his 3 sisters Rosie Zempel of Ankeny, Becky Hickle of Ankeny, Maria Herrera of Ankeny; his grandfather Orville Oberender of Ankeny; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tyler is preceded in death by his father, Richard Craig Smyth; stepfather Tom Pirtle; and his grandmother Beverly Ann Oberender.
