William "Bill" McCrea

November 6, 1952 - November 25, 2016

William (Bill) McCrea lost his battle with Cancer on November 25, 2016 at Taylor House Hospice. He was 64
He was a lifelong resident of Des Moines, graduating from North High School and DMACC’s Auto Body Repair Class. He had a few jobs before he started at Urbandale Auto body where he has been for the last 25+ years. Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends along with bowling, camping, boating, traveling and NASCAR or about any other car racing.
Survived by his wife Debbie; children Lynette McCrea, Heather Tew (Buck McClavy), Greg Tew; Sister Judy (Rodger)Nuckolls; mother in law Lucy Draper, siblings in law Randy Draper, Roxanna (Dave)Bednar, Rosanna Brommell; grandkids Skylar and Corbin; multiple cousins, nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Theresa, siblings Franny and Richard, father in law Dick Draper.
Bill is being cremated, his ashes will be scattered by family at a later date.
Per Bill’s request there will be a party in lieu of a funeral. So please join us to honor that request and help us celebrate his life. December 10th from 5pm – 8 pm at Lion’s Park 507 13th, Ave SW, Altoona IA 50009.
