William Charles Hamilton

May 10, 1929 - January 31, 2021

William Charles Hamilton Sr., 91, of Ankeny, passed away January 31, 2021 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

William was born May 10, 1929, to Earl and Stella Hamilton.  He married Charlotte Ann Dowty on June 6, 1948 in Albion, NE.  To this union they added three sons, Ed, William Jr., and Nick.  Bill and Charlotte ranched in the Sand Hills of Nebraska until relocating to Collins, Iowa to pursue a career at the Exchange State Bank in Collins.

Bill was an avid fisherman.  During his life he enjoyed many trips to the family cabin in Eva Lake near Atikokan, ON, Canada.

He is survived by sons; William (Pam) Hamilton Jr. of Texas, Nick (Kelly) Hamilton of Marion, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Jolene Hamilton of Ankeny; 7 grand children and 7 great-grandchildren.

William is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Charlotte; brother, Robert Hamilton; son, Ed Hamilton; and an infant grand daughter, Michelle Rene Hamilton.
