William “Bill” Thomas Crouch, 72,  went to be with the Lord on October 29th 2021.

Bill was born June 13, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and Frances Crouch.

He grew up in Mitchellville, Iowa and went to Dowling High School. He graduated from Southeast Polk in 1967, and went on to Drake University.

Bill bought a ticket – flew over the ocean and spent a few months hitchhiking across Europe, ending up in Northern Africa – Morocco.

He became a career bartender, starting out in Mitchellville, Iowa at Bob and Frankie’s.  He then spent time in Arizona working the resorts, and then several places in Des Moines area, ending his career at the Savory Hotel in downtown Des Moines as assistant bar manager.

Bill had a love for fast cars, and he taught himself how to play the guitar and banjo. He was an avid reader from early on in his life until he couldn’t read anymore. Everyone that came in contact with Bill over these last few years mentioned how strong of a will he had to keep going and to not give up. God Bless Bill Crouch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances Crouch; and by two of his brothers, Mike and Pat Crouch of Mitchellville Iowa.

He is survived by his siblings, Mary (Crouch) Exley of Altoona, Iowa and Mark and  Sandy (Ghee) Crouch of Altoona, Iowa; and three generations of nieces and nephews.

The family plans to have a private celebration of life at a later date.
