I am very sorry to hear about another Ankeny Howard passing. I recorded Richard's grave when I was looking for my own Howard relatives in the same Cemetery. I am also from the Ankeny area Howards, according to the new DNA testing. My Grandfather is Virgil Golden Howard, his parents, Thomas Israel & Anna Lydia Howard, are Howard cousins, both fathers are brothers. My Grt-Grt-Grandfather is Israel Howard, My grandfathers' grandfather. I have posted almost all of the Howards' graves that I have found on www.IowaGravestones.org. My grt-grt-Aunt Mary (Howard) Saylor, owned all of the land in the mid 1800's. The cemetery is on her son's farm. He was Thomas Jefferson Saylor. Our Howard's are mostly in the Pine Hill Cemetery located on NW 6th Ave & NW 54th Ave. Again, I am very sorry about your loss. I will post her grave in the spring after her date plate is added. There are not many of us original Howards left anymore. I am now 67, myself.

Dear Carol & family, Alan & I send our sympathy to you & all of Liz's family. Everyone who met Liz was blessed by her sunniness & vibrancy & positivity. Her absence will be felt by all, so I can only imagine how much more each child n grandchild will miss her. I hope each of you will carry a little of her sunny 'torch' to help make this world a little brighter. Now I will think of her each time I play piano & play Josh Groban for my mom. May God give you comfort & peace as He reminds you of His promise & power & majesty.

What a character she was! She was so kind and so supportive of Caitlin and I when we first came to work in Ankeny. An energy level we all envied! I still tell the story of how distrustful she was of computer technology. When my father first computerized the practice – it was not too long before everything crashed and he had lost all of the financial records for the previous couple of months. As it turned out, Elizabeth had been keeping all the records by hand at home and so saved the day by presenting them to my father! Lots of memories of good times in the office with her. We know she will be missed but she lives on in our stories and memories.
