George E. Clemons, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughter and extended family on April 22, 2021, at Ramsey Village in Des Moines, Iowa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9^th St., Des Moines, Iowa.

George was born to James Clifford Clemons and Agnes Freeman Clemons on May 25, 1933, in Newton, Iowa. George graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Agronomy. He was a Cyclone booster his entire life.  George worked in farming and agribusiness throughout his life until he retired.

George was married to Mary Lou Formaro of Des Moines, Iowa, and they resided in Ankeny, Iowa. George was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou; and brother, James Clifford Clemons Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Sheri Clemons of New York City; sister, Linda Adler of Lexington, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Tom (Karen) Formaro of Des Moines, Iowa; niece, Kim (Chris) Miller; great-nephews, Joey Miller and Tommy (Cortney) Miller; and great-great-nephew, Addison James.
