Josephine N. Romswinckel

Josephine Nicoline Romswinckel, 91, died peacefully surrounded by her family on December 23, 2021 in Des Moines, Iowa. Josephine was born December 18, 1930 in Indonesia to Alexander Neiborg and Bertha Wachendorff.

Josephine will be remembered as always being there for her children. She was fair and strong, and her strength came from the hard times she experienced growing up. She always wanted a better life for her family. She loved to craft, especially knitting, crocheting, and working with beads. She recently celebrated her 91^st birthday at Hickory Park in Ames. It was her favorite place to go with family. She will be missed dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). The service will be livestreamed at the following link: https://vimeo.com/668700932

She is survived by her children, Laura Dunson, Reggy Romswinckel, Grace Blaylock, Mandy Romswinckel, Hilde Berkman, Inge Falappino, Rina DePalma, and Bill Romswinckel; 32 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and many other extended family and friends.
