Mr. Robert Dale Carey

Robert D. Carey, 70, of Ames passed away May 23, 2015 due to a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 29th at Memorial Services of Iowa chapel (4208 N Ankeny Blvd). A visitation will be held 6:30p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday May 28th, also at the funeral home.
Bob was born September 18, 1944 in Kansas City, MO to Eugene and Kathryn (Sheeley) Carey.
He worked as a landscaper in Kansas City, beginning at the age of 14, until 1987.
Bob married Nancy May, January 16, 1982 in Trenton, MO. They had a son, Kenneth, March 1, 1987.
Bob and his family moved to Ames in 1996. For the last 12 years, he worked as a carrier for the Ames Tribune, in the Ames and Nevada area. He also delivered the Des Moines Register to the Jewel area.
He enjoyed fishing, playing games on the computer, and spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife Nancy, his son Kenneth (Erin) of Ames, a son Robert Jr. of Woodstock, AL, and a son Curtis, of Howard, KS; 3 sisters, and 3 brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
