Myrene Ann England, 59, passed away June 13, 2018 at The Bird House Hospice in Iowa City, with her brother Aaron and his wife Mary by her side.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Van Meter United Methodist Church (100 Hazel St., Van Meter). A visitation will be held 5 to 7:00 p.m., Monday June 18, at Memorial Services of Iowa funeral home (4208 N Ankeny Blvd., Ankeny).
Myrene was born July 29, 1958 to Earl “Tony” and Irene (Linn) England in Des Moines, Iowa.
Myrene graduated from Van Meter High School in 1976 and went on to receive an Associates degree from DMACC, where she was a member of the Phi Kappa Theta honor society. Over the years, Myrene was employed by the Des Moines Register, Principal Financial Group, Lennox Industries, Rasmussen Group, and Nationwide Insurance.
She was an avid Van Meter Bulldog fan and Iowa Hawkeye fan, attending many Hawkeye football games over the years. Myrene enjoyed music; singing and playing the piano. She was a past member of the Van Meter city council.
Myrene is survived by her brothers, Phil (Donna) England of Camp Verde, AZ, Aaron (Mary) England of Iowa City, IA; sister, Pat McMahon of Manilla, IA; her God Children, Nick and Abby Sellers; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, and her dog Nosey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alan; nieces Jennifer England and Joan Feller, and a brother-in-law, Russell McMahon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Bird House Hospice Home of Iowa City.
