Nancy Applegate

April 2, 1941 - August 16, 2020

Nancy Applegate, 79, passed away from heart and kidney failure on August 16, 2020 at her home in Ankeny, Iowa. She was born April 2, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa, to Harry and Ethelyn (Smith) Copeland. Nancy was a graduate of Waukee High School in 1958. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with family and friends. She worked at TMC Transportation Company for 35 years.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Valerie (Clark) Petersen and Leslie (Bill) Boettcher; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Applegate; and brother, Dick (Donna) Copeland.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband David C Applegate.
A Celebration of Life will be held 10-12 p.m., Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Ankeny Memorial Funeral Home (4208 N Ankeny Blvd). We kindly ask that all visitors please wear masks.
