Peggy R. Purdy

July 20, 1937 - May 4, 2022

Peggy Purdy, 84, of Des Moines passed away May 4, 2022, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Sac City, IA to Annabelle and Lawrence Jarvis and raised by Violet and Glenn Davis, her aunt and uncle, in the Des Moines and Ankeny area.

Peggy retired from Ramsey Home after 17 years of service. After retirement she went to work in the cafeteria at North High School.

The joys of her life included traveling the world, gardening, watching old game shows and college basketball.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Don; her daughters Linda (Joel) Jensen, Donna (Randy) Mulder, Sue (Monte) Roberts and Carla (Jerry) Gumpert; 11 grandchildren Jolene, Corey, Kelli, Andrew, Siera (Kyle), Justin (Hallie), Jessica (Greg), Alex (Brittany), Joshua (Danika), Sara (Isaiah), and Emily; 17 great grandchildren; Curtis, Caden, Samarra, Cameron, Brooklinn, Jaydean, Xavier, Kailyn, Kiera, Ella, Kouper, Avery, Hank, Liam, Grace, Quinn, Brayton and baby Vivian due next month.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an aunt and uncle; 3 sisters and 1 brother; grandchildren, Lindsay Jensen and Kirby Purdy, and great-grandchild Kyle Wright.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm May 10^th and Celebration of life will be at 1 pm on May 11^th both at Memorial Services of Iowa 4208 N Ankeny Blvd, Ankeny, IA.
