Robert Frank Peck, 59, of Ankeny passed away August 2, 2022.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at Ankeny Memorial Funeral Home (4208 N Ankeny Blvd., Ankeny, IA). The memorial service will be livestreamed at the following link: https://vimeo.com/event/2341641

Robert was born September 14, 1962 to Charles and Evelyn (Rich) Peck. He was the youngest of the eight Peck kids. Robert grew up in Pulaski, Iowa over Peck’s Market that his parents owned and operated. Robert graduated from Davis County High School in 1980. He was an excellent athlete playing football, basketball, golf and baseball. He was the catcher for former Detroit Tigers and Colorado Rockies pitcher Kevin Ritz all through Little League (Babe Ruth) and High School. Robert graduated from Simpson College in 1984 with a Business Management degree.

Throughout his life Robert was employed by Merchants Bonding as a Vice President, Holmes Murphy as an Account Executive and most recently Hy-Vee where he will be missed by his customers who visited the meat department.

Robert married Amy Clark on September 1,1990 and had two sons, Connor and Jesse. Robert married Janet Countryman on October 10, 2010 and had a son, Kellen. Robert’s greatest joy was spending time with his boys.

Robert loved sports! Especially the Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Cubs, Golden State Warriors and Arizona State Sundevils. He enjoyed the times he was able to attend games at Wrigley Field. When the Cubs won the World Series in 2016, they were watching games six and seven at the Home Run Inn in Chicago. The last family vacation was to the Bay Area where they attended an Oakland Raiders game. Robert found them the perfect seats on the 50-yard line.

Robert had a ton of charisma which drew people in. His smile and laugh would light up a room. Robert had a quick wit that could keep you laughing for hours.

Robert is survived by his sons, Connor and Kellen Peck; former spouse, Janet Peck; siblings, Steve (Sue Ann) Peck, Anne (Jack) Shumate, Randy (Nan) Peck, Alan (Patricia) Peck, Mary Kline, Brian (Marie) Peck, and Amy (Greg) Lock; and numerous  nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Evelyn Peck; and son, Jesse Peck.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to NAMI-Iowa (National Alliance on Mental Illness), 3839 Merle Hay Road, Suite 229, Des Moines, Iowa 50310.
