Rose Marie Reinhart, 94, passed away suddenly on February 9, 2022.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Salem United Church of Christ (320 NE 141st Ave.) in Alleman, Iowa. There will be a private interment prior to the memorial service.

Rose was born December 8, 1927, to William Sr. and Pearl (Moeckly) Fleming at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Rose graduated from Alleman High School in 1944. She was united in marriage to Earl Reinhart on April 17, 1946.

Rose spent her whole life on a farm north of Ankeny homesteaded in 1866 by her great grandfather. As a teenager, she enjoyed roller skating, ice skating, and playing basketball for Alleman High School. Following their marriage, she and Earl worked side by side on the farm raising crops and managing a cow-calf operation. Rose’s favorite time of year was spring when the baby calves were born. She was a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an active member of Salem United Church of Christ and enjoyed being part of the church’s quilters group. Her passions included cooking, cross-stitching, flower gardening, mowing her yard, attending her grand and great-grandchildren’s activities, spoiling her pets, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones.

Rose will be missed by her loving family:  son, Wayne (Jane) Reinhart of Alleman; daughter, Rosalie (Ken) Lund of Polk City; son, Gary (Deb) Reinhart of Slater; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jason) Kelsick, Brian (Kelli) Reinhart, Bryce (Ashlee) Lund, Amy Lund, Melissa (Cole) Ingle, Derek (Paige) Reinhart, Dylan (Emma) Reinhart; great-grandchildren, Brady and Carson Reinhart; Aidan, Evan, and Amelia Kelsick; Anna, Jack and Avery Lund; Hudson and Hayes Ingle; Bentley, Emery, and Tyson Reinhart and special nieces, nephews and their families.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Pearl (Moeckly) Fleming; husband, Earl Reinhart; brother, William Fleming Jr.

The family appreciates your kind support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rose’s name to the Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman, the Wounded Warrior Project, or the Animal Rescue League.
