Steven Michael Brandenburg , 45, of Ankeny Iowa formerly of Epworth Iowa passed away Friday July, 28th, 2017. Michael’s Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday August 5th, 11:00am with a lunch to follow at Ankeny Christian Church, 2506 SW 3rd St, Ankeny, IA 50021. Burial to be held privately.
Michael was born July 29th 1971 in Sacramento Ca. He moved to Epworth, Iowa at the tender age of 1. As a little boy he was active in church activities as well as the Boy Scouts of America. As a young adult he moved to Ankeny with his parents Ron and Jean and attended Ankeny High School.
As an adult, he married the love of his life Crystle (Kennedy) on October 14th 2001. Together they had son Wesley Tanner 15 and daughter Tabitha Jean Marie 10. He cherished his children and adored being a stay at home Dad. His devotion to them was unrivaled. He often said his family was his pride and joy and the best thing that could have ever happened to him.
His favorite activities were fishing especially with his son Wesley, hanging out with friends, grilling and watching the Minnesota Vikings.
Michael will be remembered for his fierce loyalty to his family and friends. If you were either one, and you needed something no matter what the circumstance, he was there helping you. He also had a wit and impishness that made him hard to resist.

Michael is survived by his wife, Crystle, son Wesley, daughter Tabitha. Also by brothers Rick West (Nancy), David Hicks, Sisters, Carol Hildebrand, Patty Nelson, Anne Hampsmire, and Jennie Farrar(Kris). Nephews, Daniel West, Aaron West, Neil Herbold, Clint Hildebrand, Caleb Hildebrand, Grant Nelson. Nieces Cara Hildebrand, Laura Hartley and Katie Hampsmire, Megan Cruz, Ryan Nicole West. Great-nephews Jalen Hildebrand, Kai Hildebrand, Logan Hildebrand, Great-nieces Emmia Hartley, Adalyn Hartley, Rylee Hildebrand. Sisters in Law Hollie Green and Janet Malmberg.
He is preceded in death by his father Ron, mother Jean, grandfather Herb, Grandmother Doris and Brother Victor.
