My deepest sympathy for your loss. Mrs. Anderson was my third grade teacher at Farrar exactly 50 years ago. She was one of my favorite teachers and I remember it as a fun year. Though initially seeming stern, she was such a kind, fun woman. There was a pianopink??in our classroom that she sometimes played. I was sad when Mrs. Anderson left to teach in another district after that year.

I was fortunate to become reacquainted with your mother almost three years ago as she recovered at Mill Pond, where my mother was a resident. I am so glad that I saw your mother last July in her lovely new apartment. Your mothers memory was incredible. She remembered not only Farrar students but their parents and some of their siblings she had never taught. It was interesting to hear her stories about teaching in different places and as a teenager starting college at Drake. I am sorry that I did not have the opportunity to visit with her at least more time. Much sympathy to her family now.

Debbie and I just learned of Maxine's passing. Over the many years of knowing Maxine, we learned to love her. She was a wealth of knowledge and we loved her stories. Sorry she did not see 100 years. (She came so close.) Condolences to her many family members. I'm sure she will be greatly missed, but what a life well lived.
