Mike was the son of Bud and Elaine Flannery. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on May 13, 1954. He graduated with the Bondurant class of 1973. Mike spent most of his career working at Tones Spices where he retired after 28 years in 2019. Mike married Theresa in 2012 and together they bought a beautiful home in Colfax and raised seven kids in their blended family. His family continued to grow. They had 22 grandkids and two great grandkids.
Mike adored his family and spent a lot of his time attending school events for all the kids. He took pride in the holidays and celebrated big on these occasions (his Christmas collections and decorations were definitely something everyone needed to see). For many years Mike became an avid mower and after retiring took on more yards. It was his freedom that he loved so much. Don’t forget about all his bonus babies, his dogs. He always had a dog at his side. They will definitely miss Papa as much as his family does already. Those who loved him will never forget the ornery side of Mike, when he started rambling in some sort of “Spanish” or acting like he’s a tough guy, “2-2’s or 3-3’s”.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Theresa; children, Chris (Bobbi), Kevin (Michelle), Jake (Randi), Melissa (Landon), Miranda, Megan and Mason (Brooke); 22 grandkids; two great grandkids; sisters, Mary (Mikes twin), Kathleen and Ann; and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death were his parents, Bud and Elaine Flannery; brother, Denny Flannery; and mother to his sons, Hazel Flannery.
He will forever be missed but never forgotten
