Thoughts & prayers to the entire family.

Norma was such a sweet lady. I worked with her at Terrace Elementary from 1977-1987. I saw her daily when she came into my art room and cleaned. I was privileged to know her as one of our 'Terrace family'. She was such a caring person. Norma will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

As a young teacher in 1969, I was assigned to multiple buildings in Ankeny, and one of them was Terrace Elem. I quickly learned who ran the building and became acquainted with the custodians, matrons and secretaries. Norma was very open to befriending a young P.E. teacher who needed guidance in where to go and how to get things for my class. She was so kind and helpful and would always speak to me when I happened to see her outside the school setting. Having had 80% of her children in class, at one time or another, you could tell how much they loved their mother, when the family was together for celebrations and I happened to be invited also. Norma was a lady who took pride in her family and her work and she will be greatly missed.
